The EPCA Annual Meeting report is ready – please download it here http://www.epca.eu/public/content/EPCADocuments/AM2011Report.pdf.

This report includes following highlights :

A 6-point focus for industry reputation enhancement by Jeroen Van der Veer, Chief Executive Royal Dutch Shell (2004-2009), as well as panelist presentations provided by Tim Hanley, Global Chemical Industry Group Leader, Deloitte Touche Kohmatsu, Anne Lise Kjaer, founder of Kjaer Global, and Giorgio Squizi, CEO of Mapei and Cefic President.

Dr. Doom, Marc Faber, gave an evening address and predicted more financial gloom.

Jordan’s dowager Queen Noor reminded the audience, during a Closing Lunch, about the Arabic origins of science and mathematics and offered a wide-ranging review of the region today and urged the chemical industry to engage with both the countries and particularly the youth of the Middle East to promote capacity building, training and educational resources for science and industry.

The Supply Chain and Logistics Leaders Breakfast put into the spotlight the geographic scope, technology, sustainability, complexity and transparency of chemical supply chains.

Finally EPCA bridged the gap between universities and industries and showed 14 students from around the world that the chemical industry can offer a range of great careers extending beyond research and development.
